About Ali

I am a senior research and media manager with extensive experience in communications and public relations, having come from a career as a political and current affairs journalist. My recent achievements include:

  • organiser of two panel events at New York Times Climate Hub at COP 26 with young people and international industry experts and campaigners;


  • organiser of roundtable events at Holyrood and Westminster as follow on to work at NYT Climate Hub;


  • stakeholder in Scottish Government Just Transition Planning Framework collating policy proposals built on youth and industry engagement on ensuring young people and young women in particular gain access to opportunities in green sectors through training and skills opportunities;


  • organiser of European Broadcasting Union Conference at BBC Scotland.

Public Relations

Raising awareness of our work through attendance at panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and seminars at conferences and summits in Scotland, the UK and Europe. 

Events

Devising programme of events and discussion topics for the 'Engineering Change' conference in 2023, examining harnessing Scotland's talent and expertise in the engineering and the built environment to overcome current challenges in our renewable transition.


With a focus on innovation and skills development - solution based, action orientated and lateral in approach - hearing from changemakers in Scotland and Europe and Scotland's diverse and expert orientated SMEs.


The Engineering Change Conference will be a two day event in 2023 with a smaller roadshow planned to take these ideas and solutions on tour round Scotland.
